Various minor but important legislative changes have been published to the Companies Law, the Limited Liabilities Companies Law and the Limited Liabilities Partnerships Law.

I shared here a few practical takeaways on certain aspects of the changes which include a requirement to categorize shares (and to record on the register of members those categories of shares that carry "voting rights") and reduced deadlines for filings changes of directors and officers with the Registrar.

However, the most substantive change is that as of 1 October 2019, members of the public will be able to visit kiosks in the lobby of the Government Administration Building and view a list of names of the current directors and alternate directors of a Cayman company and a list of names of the current managers of a Cayman limited liability company.

While I have not yet made it over to the Government Administration Building to test the new kiosks for myself, the attached memorandum provides additional insights on the letter of the law.
