The jurisdiction has always had a robust approach to knowing the owners of its companies through the island's regulator, the Bermuda Monetary Authority, and this step will continue to ensure that Bermuda, as always, is meeting global standards for transparency.
In a statement from the Bermuda Government it was said that the public register of beneficial owners would be established within 12 months following the EU's review of the fifth Anti Money-Laundering Directive, expected in January 2022.
